Welcome to the Year 4/5 Kestrels Page
Kestrels class have been continuing their Science unit of Forces by exploring the effect of gravity on unsupported objects. Here, the children were measuring the mass and weight of a range of classroom objects!
The Kestrels were visited by a Roman Centurion named Sir Marcus Garland this week. Sir Marcus taught the children about what life would be like in the Roman army as well as answering questions the children had prepared.
The Kestrels have painted their Roman shields this week. By focusing on their painting skills, the children have been using different brush strokes and mixing colours to make their designs come to life!
The Kestrels have been learning all about what a Roman soldier had to wear as part of their uniform. The children drew around each other and drew/labelled their rather complex uniform!
Kestrels class had a busy day for Children in Need. They used their estimating skills to estimate how many gem stones we can fit around the perimeter and in the area of Pudsey Bear, as well as created their own comic strips all about Pudsey and Blush's adventures.
